Brief Backing Story of Cloak - Original

‘Angel’ falls

A young girl steals the cloak that she wears, through greed, and the angel dies. At taking the cloak, it changes colour - replacing its pure, luscious cream for a burning, blood red.
The cloak is passed on through generations, although leaving a curse with each owner, once wrong was done. The power of the cloak meant it could not be destroyed.
The wearer of the cloak is referred to as the Hood.
Due to the cloak’s curse the first owner was drowned at sea, her daughter was driven mad, and granddaughter was made an outcast. The ruined futures of the girls continued until the final child refused to have a baby due to what might come of it.

After this girl’s death, the cloak was taken away and its powers became unknown. Due to its beauty, it was never disposed and merely passed on.
It was, eventually, donated to a second-hand shop.
The owner and shopkeeper, Jason Sallow, was a friendly man with a natural charm. His heart was in the right place although he often made the mistake of placing trust in the wrong people.
He became smitten by a girl who came to the shop one day. He gave her the cloak as a gift and she humoured him whilst he fell deeper in love. She realised later that the cloak was the only thing of expense that he had to offer her, and so she left.

The woman became pregnant with her second child, Scarlett Nuumite, though she never went back to Jason and he remained unaware of his daughter.
The cloak saw to the woman’s revenge when Elina died from sickness only months later.
Scarlett was so named because the elderly maid who had taken Elina to her hotel that night had found her wrapped up in the cloak. Elina had kept herself hidden from everyone, so the real name of her child was never known.
Scarlett grew up, wearing the cloak. Due to her childhood innocence, her mistakes were forgiven by the power of the cloak’s curse. The power was only regained and ready to strike when Scarlett turned sixteen, and was considered an adult. However, Scarlett remained as pure of heart as her father and remained safe from injury.

- The villain wishes to seek revenge on Jason. Before he is bitten by a were-wolf he is told about his daughter’s existence, and hopes to travel to find her.
